Welcome to Muse on Main, a chair rental salon in downtown Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and the sister salon to The Suites at 2929.

Opening a second Mt. Pleasant salon was a big decision, and our focus has always been on supporting beauty professionals in their careers. Much like The Suites at 2929, we created Muse on Main with the needs of independent professionals in mind. When thinking about what opening a chair rental salon looked like, we took a lot of factors into consideration. Ultimately a salon doesn’t exist without the beauty professionals. So much like opening The Suites, putting the professionals first in our decision processes was at the forefront of our minds. We have worked hard to try and think of anything professionals might need or want in the space they choose to start their business in. With beauty professionals in mind as our inspiration, the name Muse on Main just seemed fitting. 

Muse on Main is more than just a salon—it’s a creative space where beauty professionals can grow, connect, and succeed.

Mary George


Salon Manager & Industry Mentor

Mary George has been a licensed cosmetologist for 27 years. Mary specializes in hair replacement, hair extensions, color and cutting. Mary is the owner of Muse on Main’s sister salon, The Suites at 2929. Mary takes pride in mentoring up-and-coming beauty professionals who want to expand their careers and be successful on their own terms.

At Muse on Main, Mary oversees:

  • Salon operations and day-to-day management

  • Salon inventory management

  • Chair rental and hiring of beauty professionals

  • Business coaching and mentorship

  • Health and safety compliance

  • Salon marketing and promotions

 

Ashley Bland


Business Coordinator

With 18 years of experience, Ashley Bland is not only a licensed cosmetologist but also a business strategist for salon professionals. In those years, Ashley has taken several classes to expand her extensive knowledge on hair and has helped open multiple salons. She currently owns her own salon, Studio A, located in Weidman, Michigan. Ashley is hardworking, honest, helpful, and always willing to share whatever knowledge she has to offer!

Ashley supports beauty professionals with: 

  • Business operations coaching

  • Salon inventory budgeting

  • Effective scheduling and time management

  • Setting boundaries with clients

  • Financial planning and pricing strategies

  • Initial tax setup for independent stylists

 

Erica Markarian


Event Coordinator

Erica Markarian has been a licensed cosmetologist for 8 years. Erica specializes in permanent makeup, eyelash extensions, hair cuts, and hair color. In 2023, Erica opened her own salon, Eternal Elegance at The Suites at 2929. Erica has a relaxing vibe about her, is open to learning new things, and wants to see everyone around her succeed as well.

At Muse on Main, Erica’s responsible for:

  • Organizing beauty industry classes & training sessions

  • Bringing in expert educators

  • Budgeting for professional development events

  • Salon event communication, planning, execution, & vendor coordination

 

Jordan Gerred


Assistant Manager

With 16 years behind the chair and past experience as a salon manager, Jordan Gerred knows how to balance creativity with organization. She now owns her own salon at The Suites at 2929 and brings her warm, approachable energy to every interaction. Jordan is always willing to help, and her strong leadership presence supports both clients and professionals alike.

Jordan’s responsibilities include:

  • Supporting day-to-day operations alongside the manager

  • Managing laundry, trash, and shared equipment schedules

  • Addressing questions or concerns from clients and team members

  • Taking on managerial duties in the manager’s absence

  • Participating in the recruitment of self-care professionals
